As SPYRO prepares for its debut at Bett 2025, we sat down with co-founder Dorian Silver to dive into the company’s mission, the challenges it was designed to solve, and its exciting global strategy of leveraging exhibitions as a key route to market.
Dorian shares his vision for SPYRO and why he and co-founder Dean Tomlin believe the platform will be a game-changer for EdTech companies and the education sector alike.
Q: Why did you and Dean decide to set up SPYRO?
--
Dorian: EdTech companies need three things to succeed: technology, revenue, and users. Without users, they can’t generate revenue, and acquiring users - especially internationally - is often slow, expensive, and resource-heavy.
Dean and I created SPYRO to solve this problem. Our platform helps EdTech companies expand their reach efficiently, connect with global resellers, and flourish in new markets.
Another reason for SPYRO’s creation is the sheer volume of incredible EdTech products being developed today. There needed to be a hub where schools, ministries, and resellers could easily discover the best solutions - products that have been carefully curated to ensure they are effective, appropriate, and impactful. SPYRO bridges the gap between these amazing innovations and the people who need them most.
Q: SPYRO is launching at Bett 2025. Why is this event such a significant milestone for the company?
--
Dorian: Bett is the ultimate platform for education technology - it’s where the global EdTech community comes together. Launching at Bett gives us the opportunity to introduce SPYRO to innovators, resellers, and decision-makers from all over the world.
For us, it’s not just about launching the platform; it’s about showing the industry that there’s a smarter, faster, and more collaborative way to get EdTech solutions into classrooms. Bett is the perfect stage to showcase SPYRO’s role as a connector and catalyst for growth.
Q: SPYRO’s stand at Bett sounds exciting. What can visitors expect?
--
Dorian: We want our stand to feel vibrant, collaborative, and inspiring. Visitors can expect live demos from innovative EdTech companies, interactive spaces designed for meaningful conversations, and exclusive networking opportunities like our Reseller Networking Drinks.
Our goal is to create an environment where resellers, schools, and EdTech innovators can come together to explore new possibilities. It’s about fostering relationships that drive real impact.
Q: You’ve chosen exhibitions like Bett as a key part of SPYRO’s route to market. What inspired that strategy?
--
Dorian: Exhibitions are where the EdTech community gathers to share ideas, explore solutions, and build partnerships. For SPYRO, this makes them a natural fit. Our platform is all about connection, and being physically present at global events like Bett allows us to meet people face-to-face, understand their challenges, and show how SPYRO can help.
Exhibitions also create a ripple effect - by connecting EdTech companies and resellers in one place, we’re accelerating their ability to get products into the market faster and more efficiently.
Q: Will SPYRO be attending other global exhibitions?
--
Dorian: Definitely. Bett 2025 is just the start. We believe that if SPYRO is going to have a global impact, we need to be present in key markets around the world. From regional education conferences to international events, SPYRO will be there, building relationships and supporting EdTech companies as they scale.
Q: What excites you most about SPYRO’s future?
--
Dorian: I’m most excited about the impact SPYRO can have - not just for EdTech companies but for the schools and students who benefit from these innovations.
We’re creating something that doesn’t just solve problems for companies but also ensures the best tools get into classrooms. Seeing SPYRO’s role as a hub for connection, innovation, and impact is what drives me forward.
With its launch at Bett 2025 and a mission to simplify global expansion for EdTech companies, SPYRO is poised to become an essential platform for the education technology sector. As Dorian and Dean’s vision unfolds, SPYRO is set to make a lasting impact - helping EdTech companies grow, resellers find the best solutions, and schools access the tools they need to thrive.
